The Penguins and The Sharks had a hard fought battle last night at CONSOL Energy center. The Penguins need every point possible to secure home advantage in the playoffs. The game would go into a shootout with a score of 2-2, goals were scored by Hornqvist and Kunitz. Kunitz got his first goal in his last 19 games played, which is a big weight lifted off of his back. Perron and Crosby were able to beat San Jose Goalie Alex Stalock twice to beat them.

The Penguins had two games over the week, on Friday and Saturday. The Penguins played the best team in the league Friday night, the Anaheim Ducks. The game came off to a slow start, where both teams couldn't generate any plays and barely any shots on goal. The Penguins would go on to win
5-2, and the goals were scored by Evgeni Malkin, Sidney Crosby, Blake Comeau, and Patric Hornqvist (2).

The Pens played the next night against the red hot Los Angeles Kings. This was also a low scoring game, where the only goal scored didn't come until overtime. Patric Hornqvist was able to snipe the puck past LA goalie Jonathan Quick on a great play by defense man Paul Martin. Penguin goalie Marc Andre Fleury was able to get his league leading 9th shutout of the season.
